 Introduction              

Skill Development Council (SDC), Islamabad is offering a 2 days’ workshop on Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The training is focused on the knowledge, techniques and the tools required for effective management of supply chain processes in humanitarian and relief setting. The training will be imparted by professionals having foreign and in country experiences in development organizations like United Nations and etc. The prospect of this two days workshop is learning the management skills for effective humanitarian logistics and supply chain. It is open for professionals, working or desire to work in organizations in development, emergency or relief environment. Training will be conducted by professionals with local and overseas experience in humanitarian supply chain.

Learning Objectives

a.       To develop an understanding of key drivers of supply chain performance and their inter-relationships with strategy and other functions .

b.      To impart analytical and problem solving skills necessary to develop solutions for a variety of humanitarian supply chain management and design problems.

c.       To understand the complexity of inter-firm and intra-firm coordination in implementing programs such as e-collaboration, quick response, jointly managed inventories and strategic alliances.

d.      To develop the ability to design emergency and humanitarian logistics systems and formulate integrated supply chain strategy.

e.       To understand which information should be exchanged in a relief supply chain and how it should be used to benefit the entire supply chain.

f.       To identify improvement opportunities that exist within supply chains in NGOs and development industries and to quantify the improvements that various strategies offer.
