Objectives:
The course aims at to make
the operational level development
practitioners in the Government; Non
Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Civil
Society Organizations and the private sector
understand the theoretical perspective and
methods of formulation and appraisal of
development projects. The participants will
be exposed to various concepts and
techniques prior to demonstrating their
practical applications with examples.
At the end of the course the
participants should be able to formulate and
appraise an investment proposal.

Situation Analysis, Determination of
Project Objectives/inputs/outputs,
verifiable indicators and Logical
Framework.
Identification, valuation
and comparison of Costs and Benefits,
Discounting Techniques of investment
appraisal Net Present value, Internal
Rate of Return, Cost Benefit Analysis,
Cost – Effectiveness Analysis and
Sensitivity Analysis.
