Skill Development Council

For the first time in Pakistan a serious attempt has been made to formally associate employers in skills training planning and management. Skill Development Council (SDC) has been established with an employer as Chairman and equal membership from private sector (Employers & Trade Unions) and Government. The main functions of SDC is to assess training needs of local and foreign market requirements and meet these needs through contracting training to appropriate training organizations and also arrange for skill up gradation of the existing workforce. The SDC is a good example of Public Private Partnership.
